Key Responsibilities

The Trade Assistant plays an essential role in supporting the efficient operation and maintenance of the winery plant and services. Reporting to the Winery Engineer, this position involves a wide variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the smooth operation of our plant, winery operations and winemaking processes. All objectives relating to Health & Safety, Quality and the efficient running of the winery must be complied with. During peal periods, you will be rostered on after-hours support.

Your role as a Trade Assistant is critical to Gimblett Gravels Winery's success, demanding precision, commitment, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances, ultimately ensuring the winery operates efficiently and sustainably

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Winery Engineer in various tasks, such as setup, measurements, data collection and testing.
  • Assist in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of winery equipment, including mechanical.
  • Preventative maintenance planning execution and reporting
  • After hours call out services as required, particularly in the case of power failures, trade waste operation, plant breakdowns and vintage roster.
  • Assist in organising, tracking, and distributing materials, tools, and equipment required for projects.
  • Support the preparation of winery equipment and facilities for each vintage.
  • Assist during the vintage season with tasks such as equipment setup and breakdown and other winery vintage activities.

What you need to be successful

We are keen to hear from candidates who have the following:

  • Engineering, electrical, or relevant trade qualification.
  • Wine industry experience would be advantageous but experience in a food or beverage environment is also beneficial.
  • Significant experience in plant and equipment
  • Previous experience in maintenance or facilities services roles.

We would also be interested in supported a newly qualified trade engineer who is keen to join us in the assistant role.
