NZ

Date:  6 Nov 2024
Job Req ID:  870
Department:  South Island Winery Operations

About Us

Excitement is growing at Indevin as we gear up for the most exhilarating time of the year: vintage!

Home to Villa Maria, our vision is to be one of the world’s great wine companies, sharing the best of New Zealand wine with the world.

Our grapes come from over 6,000 hectares of planted vineyards and blended in our wineries across three of the renowned wine regions - Marlborough, Hawke’s Bay, and Gisborne - and our wines are exported globally. From grape to glass, we’re passionate about wine and we love what we do!

The Role

As we gear up for V25, we’re on the hunt for our Vintage Senior Cellar Hands to join our vintage team at our 15 Valley Winery in Marlborough!

For the team at the heart of this annual experience, there’s much more to be made in addition to wine.  You'll make great friends (it'll feel like family by the end), good money, new skills and incredible memories.  That's just a taste of what you can look forward to making when you're part of our vintage crew.

Working a winery vintage is not an easy task - we work long hours, and it’s an extremely fast-paced environment. You would be required to apply your vintage experience and winery skills to:

  • Complete senior and/or more complex tasks in our winery
  • Coach/advise junior team members and act as their point of contact
  • In some instances, you may be required to lead a team as well

15 Valley nestles into the foothills of the Wither Hills and is one of New Zealand’s largest wineries. Experienced winemakers, cutting edge technology such as smart tanks, bespoke systems and our amazing cellar teams help us to produce and export our globally renown sauvignon blanc.

About You

  • You will bring at least two vintage experiences
  • Winery specific experience
  • Available to commit to the timeframes
  • Sound problem solver with the ability to do so under pressure
  • Physically fit, reliable and a team player

  • Act as a point of contact to more junior team members as and when required

This is a seasonal, fixed term role and typically, our Vintage requirements run from February to August. Because of the nature of our business, our vintage dates might change slightly, but we will always keep you up-to-date with the latest information as we get it.

What Else to Expect

  • We offer $30-35 per hour, the final offer is based on experience. Along with a great hourly rate, we have a number of additional benefits to add to your package!

  • This will be a fixed term role in line with the seasonal dates for Vintage
  • You need to be prepared to undertake a pre-employment medical examination and drug and alcohol test
