The Role
We're looking for an experienced Senior Packaging Designer to join our in-house Design Studio, where you'll take ownership of packaging production while contributing to creative design projects across our portfolio of iconic wine brands.
This is a unique role that combines technical excellence with creative opportunity. You'll take ownership of the end-to-end execution of packaging artwork across our portfolio, ensuring every file is accurate, print-ready and delivered to the highest standard. You'll also support the wider Design Studio across a variety of creative projects, from new product development and point-of-sale material to marketing collateral and digital assets.
Working closely with Brand, Marketing, Supply Chain, printers and packaging suppliers, you'll play a critical role in bringing some of New Zealand's most iconic wine brands to life.
What you'll be doing
• Own the end-to-end execution of packaging artwork across our portfolio.
• Manage packaging approval workflows (PageProof) and artwork sign-off.
• Prepare technically accurate, print-ready artwork for labels, cartons, capsules and other packaging components.
• Liaise with printers and packaging suppliers to ensure exceptional print quality and resolve technical artwork queries.
• Carry out thorough quality assurance checks to maintain artwork accuracy and brand consistency.
• Create high-quality mock-ups, retouching and image manipulation using advanced Photoshop skills.
• Support the wider Design Studio with creative design projects including:
- New product development
- Point-of-sale material
- Marketing collateral
- Digital assets
- Presentations
- Contribute to improving studio processes and share technical knowledge with the team.
About You
• 5+ years' experience in packaging design, graphic design or artwork production.
• Advanced Adobe Illustrator skills.
• Advanced Adobe InDesign skills.
• Exceptional Adobe Photoshop skills—you love retouching, compositing and image manipulation.
• Strong understanding of print production and packaging artwork.
• Excellent attention to detail and a passion for producing high-quality work.
• Able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A collaborative team player who enjoys supporting others and getting involved across a variety of creative projects.
• FMCG, food, beverage or wine industry experience will be highly regarded.
