The Role

We’re looking for several Experienced Cellar Hands to join our winery teams!
This is a permanent, full-time position based in Marlborough.

In this role you will:  

  • Execute assigned cellar operations to meet production requirements, including, but not limited to:  

  • Wine transfers, additions, filtration, stabilization, gas adjustment, receival and dispatch, tank & equipment cleaning and sanitation  

  • Operating equipment such as pumps, crushers, presses, and temperature control systems. 

  • Complete job sign-ons when approved and required. 

  • Lead and supervise Vintage teams as required by the Operations Supervisor   

  • Be able to work day and afternoon shifts (and night shifts during Vintage)  

  • Ensure all cellar operations are carried out in a professional and timely manner 

  • Cellar and winemaking requests are actioned promptly and professionally. 

About you

You’ll bring solid winery experience and a passion for quality winemaking.  

We’re looking for people who: 

  • Has an NZQCF Level 4 qualification or at least 3 years of relevant experience. Supervising experience is desirable. 

  • Is hard-working, motivated, and have a can-do attitude 

  • Is safety-conscious and follows procedures carefully 

  • Is a sound problem solver with the ability to do so under pressure   

  • Is physically fit, reliable and a team player  

  • Can communicate clearly in English and follow written and verbal instructions 

  • Has a proactive, continuous-improvement mindse

What else to expect

  • This is a fast-paced environment and involves a fair amount of manual labour and concentration 

  • Along with a great hourly rate, we have a number of additional benefits to add to your package!  

  • You’ll need to be available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. Monday to Friday. However, depending on operational requirements, you will be required to work shifts that include evenings, weekends, and public holidays. 

  • You need to be prepared to undertake a pre-employment medical examination and drug and alcohol test
