Cellar Door Host
NZ
About Us
Home to the iconic brand Villa Maria, our vision is to be one of the world’s great wine companies, sharing the best of New Zealand wine with the world.
Our grapes come from over 6,000 hectares of planted vineyards and blended in our wineries across three of the renowned wine regions - Marlborough, Hawke’s Bay, and Gisborne - and our wines are exported globally. From grape to glass, we’ve been pioneers of wine industry practices since 2003 - we’re passionate about wine and we love what we do!
From our wine supply business to our branded wines - we are proud of our incredible footprint in the industry.
The Role
Picture this: You, surrounded by lush vineyards, rolling hills, and the beauty of Marlborough’s Wairau Valley. You’ll be based at our Fairhall Winery, welcoming visitors from across the globe, guiding them through engaging and unforgettable wine tastings, and sharing the incredible stories behind every bottle.
As a Cellar Door Host, you'll be the face of Villa Maria – welcoming guests with a smile, sharing your passion for wine, and creating those "wow" moments. If you love meeting new people, chatting about wine, and crushing sales goals, then this is the job for you! Plus, you'll get to be part of a fun, enthusiastic team that loves what they do.
What You'll Be Doing:
-
Meet and Greet: Greet visitors, offer recommendations, and create memorable tasting experiences.
-
Sell the Villa Magic: Share our vineyard stories and win over new Villa Maria fans – turning guests into lifelong enthusiasts!
-
Cellar Superstar: Keep our cellar door looking its best, replenish stock, and make sure every visitor has the ultimate wine experience.
-
Tech-Savvy Wine Seller: Process wine sales using Shopify POS and help guests choose their perfect bottles to take home.
-
Know the Rules: Ensure responsible sales and follow alcohol regulations (and we can help you get your Duty Manager's license if you don’t have one yet!).
About You
What We’re Looking For:
We’re after someone who’s outgoing, fun, and full of energy – someone who loves meeting new people and is passionate about wine. You don’t need to be a wine expert, but being keen to learn (and share!) is a must. You’ll be a natural people-person who can connect with anyone who walks through the door.
Perks of the Job:
-
Gorgeous workplace in the heart of wine country
-
A fun, supportive team that feels more like family
-
Share your love of wine with visitors from all over the world
This is a fixed-term role, 30 hours per week, until April 2025. Hours are typically 10 am – 5 pm, 4 days per week (including Saturdays).
